Terms of service

These terms apply when you create a Dirso account, register a .so domain or build a website with us. By using the service you agree to them.

Your account

• You must be at least 18 or acting for an organisation that has authorised you.
• Keep your password and any two-factor device to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
• The details you give us must be accurate and kept up to date.

Domains

• We register .so domains with the .so registry on your behalf. The domain is registered in the name you provide, and the registry's own rules apply alongside these terms.
• A domain is yours for the period you paid for. We email you before it expires. If it is not renewed it stops resolving, enters a grace period, and can then be released or deleted by the registry.
• Registrations, renewals and transfers are final once the registry has processed them. We cannot refund a domain the registry has already registered or renewed.
• A name that is available in search may still fail to register, for example if someone else registers it first or the registry reserves it. If that happens you are not charged, or you are refunded in full.
• You can transfer a domain away from us at any time after the registry's transfer-lock period, using the authorisation code from your account.

Websites

• You own what you create with the builder. You grant us permission to store, build and serve it so that the service works.
• Content generated by the builder is provided as a starting point. Check it before you publish it; you are responsible for what your website says and does.
• We may take a website offline if it breaks the acceptable-use rules below or if a court or authority requires it. We will tell you unless we are not allowed to.

Payments

• Prices are shown before you pay. Payment is taken through supported mobile-money providers, and the provider's own terms cover the transfer itself.
• Every order produces an invoice you can download from your account.
• If a payment is confirmed but the order cannot be completed, we refund it to the account it came from.

Acceptable use

You may not use a domain or website registered through us to:

• Send spam, phish, or distribute malware.
• Infringe someone else's trademark, copyright or other rights.
• Publish material that is illegal in Somalia or where it is targeted.
• Attack, overload or interfere with the service or anyone else's.

We may suspend an account, domain or website that does any of these, and we may report it to the registry or the authorities.

What we do not promise

We work to keep the service available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that a searched domain will register, or that a website built with us will suit any particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Ending the agreement

You can close your account at any time by emailing us at the address below. Domains registered through us stay registered until they expire or are transferred. We can end the agreement if you break these terms, and we will give you reasonable notice unless the breach is serious.

Changes and law

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we email account holders before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of Somalia, and disputes are handled by the courts of Mogadishu.
